Could my hen be in Mourning? Hasnt laid in 14 days..help!

I need some thoughts about what could be going on with my 1 yr old Barred Rock.

She is a member of a flock consisting now, of just 3 ducks.

On June 15, her hatch mate, another 1 yr old Barred Rock, horribly and tragically , drowned.

Now, my girl is doing just fine with her flock, they all love each other and she does hang out with 11 other chickens from various other flocks.

I get 3 eggs per day, from the 3 ducks, no fail, however, my hen has Not laid since the day before I lost my hen.

As of today, its 14 days.

How long can a hen go without laying her egg ?

Im now getting VERY concerned.

Her diet has not changed, and she physically, is feeling fine, just NO eggs..

Please , any thoughts or suggestions will be Greatly appreciated.

i don't know if they can shut egg production down because of grief. i do know my four survived my dog killing 10 of their flock mates. they were emotionally different for about a month then they forgot and life went on.

I believe that when something has disturbed or distressed them in some way, they will stop laying for a bit. It's strange how that works. It sounds like she is fine. I'm sure she will start laying again when she is over her trauma.

I had a Barred Rock that would quit laying for a few days every time I did something she didn't like, such as a total clean out of the coop. She hated it when things were changed around on her.
