You guys are all great and helped me discover possible breeds in addition to 2 of my 12 chicks most likely being cockerels (I'm keeping one, my brother is taking the other). Now today I'm noticing that of my reds, Tammy looks more like a Timmy?! 😭 They're appx 6 wks and compared to my other 3 reds, she's looking pretty different suddenly. Is she just developing faster than the others or do I need to start looking to re-home him? I've got a picture of one of my girls first (I think) to compare him against. TIA!

😭😭😭😭 I was afraid of that. So I'm new to chickens--I'm guessing more than one rooster is not ideal? He's such a nice little guy that it'll be hard to let him go, but it is what it is.

Just because you discovered this one second doesn't mean you should definitely keep the first one. Keep them both and wait and see which is a better fit for you, your family, your flock, your other pets, etc. It also depends what you want in a rooster-one might be a great flock protector but doesn't do a lot of mating and doesn't give you as many fertile eggs. Wait and see!

Thanks for the awesome advice! Very, very good info to think on--I'll definitely do that! 😁

No problem! If someone here contradicts my advice, 9 times out of 10 you should listen to them over me. Most advice I can give is stuff that I've picked up from BYC, and not experience, so definitely listen to other people with more experience.
