I just found 13 beautiful brown eggs by my front door. We have heard the chicken doing her laying song but couldn't figure it out. Is there any way they are still edible? It has been about 50 to 55 during the day and in the 40s at night. I hate to waste them! Did the float test. Only one had the big end slightly floating, so I tossed it.

Your picture looks just like the hen that laid them! Her name is Tweety. She's my favorite. :-)

LOL, not too much I hope.

That picture is George - my ROOSTER!!!

Georgie doesn't lay too many eggs, lol.

Here is a better pic. George is a Buff Orpington Rooster (on the left). In this picture you can also see the two Buff Orpington Hens (Fire Ant in the red apron and Orpy in the blue apron.) I also have 6 Rhode Island red Hens and three BO x RIR chicks - not in the picture.

The eggs should be fine. We have used eggs that were 4 weeks old stored on the counter in the kitchen and they were just fine. Congrats on your eggs! That's great she is laying them at your door.

Yes, I must say that is very convenient!

Just reach out the front door to grab a quick breakfast

That's a roo? Lol couldn't see that we'll in the picture. He's beautiful! Wish I could have a big roo. Just have a silkie, cocjin and serama. That is all the noise I can handle. The serama makes more noise that any big roo though. Lol
