Too bad. I sometimes drive 2 hours for a fishing trip, to your own lake it would be worth it!it is, lots of wild ducks, how ever i live two hours away from this farm/lake.
its not a bad drive, we bird hunt quite a bit down there in the fall, i would love to fish down there but its tough to convince the family as we have lakes with in 30 minutes (one lake last year my day caught over 100 perch in a day) but we travel an hour and a half when were camping up north to some trout lakesToo bad. ya its awesome, really excited to try and fish this place, we travel 4 hours north just to camp for the summer lol.heck 2 hours is a perfect when's get away... fishing, camping, and your closer to daily if anything happens
My guess is that 70 years ago people thought if times got lean they could always fish the pond and have meat for the table. 70 years ago is not far from the depression area. Good luck with the fishing. Enjoywell another update here.
my grandparents think there may be perch in the lake, they think about 50 or more years ago someone in the family might of took a bucket of live fish and let them go. what got them interested in this idea is old timers (like 70 years ago) would put there extra live fish in every lake and pond they had. they never thought of fishing these now stocked ponds just thought the fish would die. so going to try and fish this lake![]()
ya the land was my great great grandparents, who gave the land to my great grand parents who pasted it down to my grandparents, so my guess is the land has been in the family for well over a hundred years. which puts it in the depression area.My guess is that 70 years ago people thought if times got lean they could always fish the pond and have meat for the table. 70 years ago is not far from the depression area. You are so lucky to have the land as a family legacy. I hope it remains in the family forever. Let us know how the fishing is and don't fish the pond out. LOL Is the house still on the property, cause I would be drooling!!ya the land was my great great grandparents, who gave the land to my great grand parents who pasted it down to my grandparents, so my guess is the land has been in the family for well over a hundred years. which puts it in the depression area.![]()
