Could there ever be a thread about evolution??

I have been interested in evolution for as long as I can remember and since I started High School 3 years ago I have learned so much about the matter from my biology teacher! That teacher really knows everything! She teacher Normal biology for grade 10, Higher biology for grade 11 & 12. Ordinary physics for grade 11&12 and also German foreign language I think! She is incredible and never uses any books in class! She has everything memorized- definitions, explanations, formulae and diagrams!! I always look forward to her classes! I wonder if we couldn't create some sort of thread for all those who believe in evolution to discuss the matter and NOT to try and prove it's reality! I'm looking for a thread where i can learn more and ask some questions if I need some answers! Would thi be possible? Maybe there could also be some volunteers to keep an eye on the thread and remove any post that might start any argument! Could such a thread ever exist or is it evident that it will end in an argument?

As with religion and politics, these topic of conversation rarely stays civil and ends up being shut down.

Yes most of the "god or evolution" threads have ended in disputes but... each of these threads were about debating the two topics! In this thread, there would be a VERY clear description in the first post that the thread is not about trying to prove evolution or disprove it and that its one and only purpose would be to discuss and learn about biology. A thread like this can be very helpful if it would be used correctly and with the right supervision I'm sure that it could work.

I would enjoy this.. and even though .. the Moderator.. would probably hit delete or remove more on a thread like this.. I do think it would have great value..

btw.. what is it you would like to learn more about.. maybe a specific question could help design a header that wouldnt attract the controversy.

well I'm really interested in genetics! Like the stuff we also use here on this site to determine what colors offspring might be or when you mix with with normal chinese blue breasted quail! the chicks will not look white but carry the white gene! But I don't only want to learn about genetics I would also like to discuss some other biology topics! For example there are these scientists who are trying to turn on some genes in chicken that are dormant in order to have them grow tails and take a step backwards in evolution! It's really interesting stuff!
That's a great idea to create a header that doesn't point out evolution!
I think a title that just says something about general biology would be great! what do you think?

There are lots of forums out there that would have the kind of topics you wish to discuss.

For birds, we do have a lively Breeds forum where the genetics of quail can be discussed.
