I have decided that I need to put an end to our chick's plight. While she doesn't seem too distressed, I have seen no improvement in the last several days and I don't think it is fair to leave her like this.
She is my son's chick and he agreed that the kind thing to do would be to let her go. He has had a tough couple of years, having to deal with death too often, both family and pets. I think some of my anxiety with this chick stems from not wanting my very tender hearted son to have to go through this again.
Nevertheless, I think it is time. Thank you for all your help and concern.
