Loss of feathers is generally because of molting- but yours are too young. Lice are very small and hard to see but I guess when you do see them- you know for sure they are little bugs. Ducks do not get them as often as chickens when they have adequate water the swim in - but they do still get them. The constant bathing acts as a deterrent and gives the ducks a way of managing them without chemicals. On the other hand I know my white ducks can have the appearance of little bugs on them after a few muddy days. If you are unsure it is better to treat them - and include a regular treatment in their management plan. Due to alot of wild birds in my yard every 2- 3 months I will treat my birds- and the night pens where they sleep.
