Could This Hen Be Ready To Lay Her First Egg?

My chickens are 17 weeks old. The past couple of days I have had 1 BO hen that is making a "nest" so to speak, near a corner in the coop. Everytime I go out there she is still there. I have checked her and she is fine, no injuries. She look very healthy, ie. not acting any different from any of the other hens. The only difference being that she is staying in this spot.
Could it be that she is getting ready to lay her first egg??? If not, what else could it be (besides the fact that she is a chicken who wants to make a nest

Just a thought, but originally I was thinking that my RIR's would be the first to lay. Not sure why.

Again, I am not sure what she is doing? I know she isn't broody, because she is too young.

How red is her face? Have you noticed her doing "the squat" when you pet her?

I don't have any pullets at that age, but those were things I noticed with my adult hens. Georgeous, blazing red faces, and the unmistakable squat, to me that means eggs are on the way.

They are nice and pink.

I have noticed that all my BO's combs and wattles, turning pink?

Does that mean something????

That is what I was thinking, but I had to ask the experts!!!!!

This waiting is very difficult for me, but I am TRYING to be patient! I am checking on her 10 times a day or more. I can hardly wait!!!!

Mine didn't lay until they were 20 months or more, but get ready! She may surprise you with a nice present! YAY!
