We bought chickens back in April and they have grown into such a lovely flock! Unfortunately five have died (Buff Brahmas, Sebright, Silkie, D'uccle) and we have sold six. One of my hens went broody and we bought 25 chicks- 12 for her to foster and 13 to raise. Unfortunately she rejected them and we decided that a safer approach would be to just brood all 25. Now we have around 60 or 70 birds!!
I am very excited because we bought some new breeds: Black Australorpes and Golden Laced Wyandottes are the ones we did not have previously.
They are so adorable! We are hoping we don't lose any- our five died when they reached adulthood.
Sorry- just had to explain everything excitedly! They're going to be very nice additions to the flock!
