Does anyone know which three grains are in Country Lane fancy scratch grains (sold at Orsheln)? I'm just curious. I throw out handfuls for my chickens in the side yard on bare ground. I've noticed that something is growing there now. I'm assuming it's one of the grains in that mix.

Speaking of which, is it possible to grow something where the chickens are staying? I would like to plant some clover for them, but I'd assumed I'd have to plant it in a spot they couldn't get to, then move them there once the clover was growing. Since I don't have enough room for that, I'd given up on the idea. These plants are germinating in an area the chickens use a lot, though. I'm not sure it that question made sense? Keep in mind I'm not a gardener at all and know nothing about how to plant clover.

Just in case anyone else finds this page via a search, I am going to answer this old question.

Cracked corn, whole milo, whole oats

(I was googling yesterday and couldn’t find the ingredients listed anywhere online even at orschein’s website; then I found an empty bag of it in my shed where I keep bags to reuse.) We have used this brand/type of scratch grains many times & have no issues with it.
