thank you! Oh- great idea about the eaves! I'm not really even close to getting work done on the roof... ha! (if you see my page, you'll see!) but I am determined to make a cupola for it. Could be a couple of weeks away yet. I'll keep it in mind or I'll post to the group about making one when the time comes! Did you make your won gingerbread cutout in the eaves, or did you buy it?? I didn't see it on, I'll have to go back and look again.

It's our house that has the impressive gingerbread...for the coop, DH just "winged it"! Ha. I crack myself up.

Hi all, and thanks for your kind words!

I did get pics of the final touches tonight, but then we hit the road for my in-laws'. I'll have to wait and post them tomorrow. It is just the run with roosts and sand and ramp, the inside view with pullout floor/drawer for quick no fuss cleanup (well, a girl can dream), and inside looking up at the cupola cutout and our coon-proof locks. The girls did great out there today!

There is a discussion topic on what to name your coop...I like the name we chose, but I think " The Cupola" is a pretty awesome name, too!

it's been a big project! That's so funny, about calling the coop "The Cupola" because that's exactly what my husband calls it! I wanted one so bad, and wouldn't stop talking about it, that it kinda became the elephant in the room Lol! I just ordered a weathervane to put on top of it! Hasn't this coop and chicken thing been so much fun?! We are loving it!

Actually DH has his mind set on a mini (well, 5-ft. tall) windmill. It won't be functional (obviously)...but it will be cute!

So, here is a pic of the inside of the roof, showing the cupola cutout, but I decided to go ahead and post them all to my BYC page...I'll just put them at the end with a note saying these pics were taken after the contest ended on 7/25. I don't think we'd "win" anyway since there were so many, many great designs. But, we are all winners, aren't we? As are our girls.

Here is the inside of the coop, pointed up at the ceiling so you can see the cupola cutout and vents.

Here also is the floor/drawer pulled 1/2 out so you can see how we hope to quickly clean the coop poop.
