Eight year old buff Orpington
Eating/drinking normally, acts entirely uneffected, ranges out with the other birds and everything just fine
Saw a very messy bottom about five days ago, looked and saw a roughly marble sized prolapse coming out of her vent
Pushed on it then, but it seemed firm.
Since then, I've been giving her a calcium pill in the morning and been applying Preparation H and pushing it back in twice a day. It hasn't grown in size at all. I also put her in a small dog crate, so she limits her running around in case that's causing an issue for her keeping it in. There has never been a hard or black spot like I've seen on some prolapses.
Originally, it kept pushing right back out. The last couple of days, the prolapse pushing in and stays in when I put the hen down. But by the next time I check her. It's back out.
I haven't taken a picture as even though I have trimmed her feathers quite a bit, it'd still be a three handed affair to be able to take a picture.

I've never had to deal with a prolapse before and this is one of my original chickens we hatched back in 2018. I almost culled her as soon as I found it, but considering she's showing absolutely zero issues with it... that felt wrong. I cannot feel an egg inside of her and I would be surprised if she's laid an egg the last couple of years.

How long should I be holding the prolapse in? I've been holding it in 10-30 seconds, especially now that it is staying in after I push it in. Not sure how long I should be standing there with a finger in her.
Should I Epsom salt soak her? Is that best to get the swelling to go down or is there something else I could do to help with that
Is there something other than Preparation H that I should be putting on her prolapse?
Should I keep up with the calcium? It's been 4-5 days with a pill each day.
If suddenly the prolapse stays in, should I keep her in her cage for a few days just to make sure it stays in and to give things a time to settle down?
And finally, how long should I give it before I cull her? She's a very minor inconvenience, so I don't mind giving her some time. I understand she's not a productive member of the flock, but she's also not exactly a big drain on resources. She mostly just cruises around, eats a tiny bit of feed, and poops.

Thanks!

Sometimes it can take a week or more for a prolapse to stay in or go in. I would give the calcium with vitamin D up to 7 days. She should be separated from others until the prolapse stays in because the others can peck at it injuring the vent or even pull out her intestines.

I have her in the sick chicken shed, but I think I'll love her back into the main coop so she can at least see her friends. I know a couple hop the fence and come say Hi to her. :D But her other eight year old friends certainly aren't doing that.

You wouldn't worry about doing an Epsom soak or might it help?

And yes, it's calcium w/ D3. Thanks for your help!
