i have 2 pekin ducks, a drake and hen, 1 blk runner hen, and 1 buff hen. i get fertile eggs only from the pekins. i noticed that the runner was giving the pekin drake the lower head while they were running around. he seemed to completely ignore it. they only time i have seen him breed is in the big mud puddles in front of the house. i know that they can interbreed, i got fertile eggs last year from a different pekin drake and this same runner. are runner ducks more land ducks or water duck? will he ever notice her?

Sometimes it seems drakes prefer their own breed to some extent. But ducks are very amorous, and as breeding season progresses they usually get around to everybody. Runners love water as much as Pekins do.
