very nice coop...more pictures please! I love the design.

Here's some new pics! We got it moved into it's permanant(ish) location, and put up some more siding. Since these pic's I've painted the new board and gave the whole coop it's 2nd coat of paint. We're going to use metal roofing, and poultry wire.

Hopefully today we'll get the wire, metal roof, and make the door into the run. We also are putting a door above the nesting boxes and in the back of the coop for cleaning etc. All depends on this crazy stormy weather that just showed up out of no where!

Thanks for looking!

if you put the chicks in and dont lock them up at night, i would put 1/2 inch hardware cloth around 2-3 feet up around the perimiter or the raccoons would stick there hands through and grab the chicks and kill them, plus that chicken wire isnt really sturdy so i would worry about them getting into it. Thats just my opinion.

lol Oh yea, Claire loooves the chicks. First thing every morning she scratches at the door to check on them. And any time there's a louder-than-usual chirp... she's in there like lightning! She puts her paws on the top of the brooder so she can look in and make sure they're all okay.

I don't know what she's gunna do when they're outside! lol

It really only costs us about $200. But the metal roofing was recycled, as well as the OSB boards and a few of the 2x4s. But we have also purchased about 15 more trim boards that still need to be painted and attached, so they aren't pictured.

We bought about 25 8ft 2x4s, 15 8ft trim boards, poultry wiring, staple gun, staples, 3 inch screws, 1 in screws, 3 cans of paint, paint brushes, 3 8ft treated boards for the bottom, hardware (hinges, locks, roofing board supports, etc.). I think that's everything?

Ah... and our 3 ladies came to the grand total of $8.42

The whole thing has taken about 2 weeks so far. So not that bad.
