Cover or replace manufacturer installed window covering?

If you need to move the coop, but don't have a tractor/forklift, you might try renting a forklift jack pallet truck. We have the same brand, but the large one which weighs in at 900# and sits 12" above the ground, so we're HOPING that will work to move it from our neighbor's back yard to ours. Might need to put some wood down to pull the hand truck over because we have bumpy ground.

That will be a bit tight for 5 chicks. Definitely cant add more. But I would also just put hardware cloth over the existing wire.
Yes. TY I was thinking the same. Newbie here .. Mfr says coop fits 6-8 chicks, but the more I research ,the more I realize those coop estimates always seem to be on the high side.

Yes, they always over estimate. Good rule of thumb to follow is 4 sq ft per chicken in the coop and 10 sq ft per chicken kn the run. Minimum. More is always better and helps integration gonsmoother if you choose to get more chickens in the future.

You’ll be fine on space. You have enough roost space. You are building a run. One chick may die, or later, one may die early. It happens. The chicks will be raised together and chances are good they will get along well.

what is your climate like? In an area with severe winter or heavy snow load, interior space matters more as they may stay inside during the worst weather.

nice coop! It looks well built and attractive.
