Does anyone know of a light weight material to cover my coop with I'm afraid chain link fence would be expensive and a bit too heavy .

There are lots of other types of wire that can be used that you can buy at the hard-ware store. It might be more difficult to put together, but it should be cheap, light-weight, and keep things like hawks and cats away from your chickens. Make sure it is strong enough to stop raccoons as well!

Best of luck!

I'm in Canada but you should've able to find the nylon chicken wire I just bought at Tractor supply store . Hubby said its hard to put up cause it stretches but it's light weight ... We'll see when it snows!!

Game bird netting, sometimes called Aviary Netting, or Top Netting. Usually made for flight pens and comes in very large widths to cover wide areas.

I got wild bird netting. Stapled a 13x13 square over my run. Its lightweight plastic. Got it at Lowes for about $13.

Make sure it's strong , raccoons and even cats can rip threw some bird netting. I paid more so I won't have to repair and replace birds later !!!
