Cows and Chickens in the same pasture?

I was kinda late finding this thread, but what you want is for the chickens to be about 3 days behind the cattle. This is because the fly egg cycle is 4 days. Chickens are wonderful (and free) labor when it comes to spreading out the nutrients that the cows drop, as well as being very useful for a natural fly control
