Coyote Problem- more drama from my dad

Quote:
I don't know about multiple donkeys. I have one, a big gelding, We had lost several calves and found 2 large deer killed by a large predator in 5 weeks. The donkey absolutley kills coyotes also kills armadillos, opossums, skunks and one of my dogs that wasn't paying attention. He seems very content to hang with the cows and we dont lose calves anymore. But they are a dangerous animal and I would never let small children in the pasture with him. One a funny note, I was cutting firewood one day and had the doors on the truck open with the radio on. That silly donkey got completely inside my truck. I didn't think I would ever get him out. They have the most personality of any of the farm animals.

Yes an electric fence is the answer. I have one around my run. My fence is 5 ft. high. I have one strand running around it 10" off the ground. another strand 6" down from the top and another right in the middle. Make sure you have a good power box. Don't buy a cheap one !!!!!!! I talked to the factory Rep. and told him I had coyotes and bobcats, He said buy a power box that was good for at LEAST 15 miles. He said if they touch that, they won't be back. hes been right so far. I have a electric fence tester and the charger puts out 7,000 volts.
