my dogs were just making a real fuss so i went out to yell at them and a coyote was 30 yard from the coop and stalking in for a look at the chickens. it ran into the woods so i went and got the pellet gun out of the house and it was already coming back i was in the house like maybe two min. i shot at it as it ran away again but pretty sure i missed. this thing is real hungery or just stupid what should i do?im watching out the window for him to come back.
BTW the pellet gun is .22 cal. 1200 fps and ive seen one like it kill a wild boar on a hunting show so it should put down a coyote

he is dead now

Yep, you absolutely want to get rid of any coyotes hanging around your place. However, the gun your using will not do the trick. You'll need at the very least a well placed shot from a REAL.22, not the 22 pellet. Something of higher caliber would be better.Be aware, if you have young children, a hungry coyoted will view a small child as easy prey.Coyotes are oppertunist, they come around farms /etc. looking for easy prey. There is plenty of food for them in the wild, they just know that, where there are people theres easy pickings.Chickens, cats, smaller dogs, lambs, goats and yes they attack people more often than anyone care to like...!

its time to breakout the big guns getting the 45/70 from a friend im going to blow it away. no suffering just gone. BOOM no more coyote. i love that gun

I didnt like the fact that the thing came right back. Usually you only see a healthy coyote one time and it is usually not out in broad daylight doing business. I would be afraid it had rabies, take caution if you cant kill it right away.
