Coyotes??

I do the same thing. I'm seeing if I can get a shotgun or get my semi-auto M14 from my dad. So that I can actually start going after them more.

We have them here. Saturday night they got 2 of my ducks that are out 24/7. They would sleep in the pond during the night, but the coyotes ran across the ice and snatched them out of the water.

Where in TN are you that you rarely see them??? They abound here where I am!! A neighbor of mine lost of her dogs, her pygmy goats, and all her chickens and ducks to them.

Sorry, you'll have to wait a little longer on the dead coyote/fox pictures..apparently they are still on the external harddrive and I am not entirely sure where it is right now.

ConchRepublic, if you want to go out and actually hunt them, I suggest you get a hunting rifle. My brother has a 22-250 that he uses as his varmint rifle and works quite well. You will probably have a hard time getting the coyotes to come in to a good range with a shotgun, and a good long range rifle will help with that. I'm not saying the m-14 wouldn't work, but a 22-250 is an awesome flat shooting rifle that will reach a good distance but not be overkill. My family use deer rifles and the like for coyotes as well, but usually those are shots that are somewhere between 300 and 500 yards, if not further.
