Coyza antibiotics

So I am no expert and I believe I saw someone put that wound care stuff from tractor supply on a napkin and rub the eye.

I personally have never done it but, I have done something different. In the hispanic culture when you've got a pink eye or swollen eye chamomile works wonders. I put the bag in a boiling cup like I normally would and once it was ready I let it cool for a bit and placed it on my pullets eye. She had been scratching at it for days and was swollen. After a few minutes of leaving it there I repeated the process with a new tea bag for 2 more days and her eye is much better now. It takes some time to heal but it really made a difference for me. FYI you can do this for humans too. I do it all the time for my little ones and it helps with redness and rubbing.

Anyone know what antibiotics to give for a chicken with puss in the eye? Coyza?

Thank you
Are you for sure dealing with coryza and not MG or an infection that has abscessed? Is there a bad odor? Pictures would be helpful. Sulfa antibiotics such as sulfadimethoxine or SMZ-TMP can treat coryza symptoms, but the disease is chronic, and the chicken will always be a carrier. Symptoms can come back. Here is a link for buying Medicox sulfadimethoxine:

Here is another for smz tmp:

Yes, there is a foul odor. The chicken did improve but she got sick again. And it’s worse.

Sorry.Did you get and treat with the SMZ TMP or Medicox? You may want to cull her and send the body into your state vet for a diagnosis, to make sure that it is coryza. Here is a list of all state vets and some instructions on how to keep the body:

Be sure to keep your flock closed, and not ever rehome or sell any birds.
