I had a terrible thing happen today - one of my month-old babies drowned in a bucket of water (one of the water buckets with the nipples on the bottom - the lid came off
. I don't know how long she was in there, when I pulled her out, her legs were stiff and neck leaning toward one direction but not full rigor mortis.
I am hoping to never have to experience something like that again, but for future reference, would like to know -
Approximately how long of a window of time is there where you could revive a chicken that drowned? Seconds? Minutes? An hour or two? I assume the time is shorter when the water is frigid & hypothermia is part of the equation, but what about when it's summertime & the water is not overly cold?
I've seen reports of people bringing drowned chickens back to life by using CPR, but don't know much about how to correctly do it. Are there good threads anyone can point to?
Thanks
