I have a quick question. I am going to be making a Styrofoam incubator and was wondering about the CPU fan. Does the fan need to be from a desktop computer or can it be from a laptop? I have a broken laptop and the fan from it is a DC 5v 0.5 amp. Would this fan be strong enough to use?

I prefer the large fans, 80mm and larger. They are $4 online, shipped to you. However, I think spending more like $6 or $8 to get a higher quality, better bearings fan is likely worthwhile. Less noise. Ebay is loaded with sellers but they're also found at local computer shops and even at second hand stores. Driving around looking isn't for me.

I have a tiny cpu fan in my incubator now. It's just powerful enough to move a little air in an incubator I consider to be a still air. It just keeps the warm air from forming layers....barely.
