Hi all! I'm completely new at raising ducks. I had the larger duckling egg hatch before expected, and while in the incubator, somehow cracked it's beak between the hardware. It's about 2 days old now, and it doesn't seem to have issues with eating/drinking, but the crack is very noticeable. I'm unable to see inside it's mouth at this moment to assess further damage, since it's still so tiny and fussy. There is not a vet who sees ducks for almost 80 miles away from me, so does anyone have any recommendations on what I should do or if I should be concerned? I'll post a pic below.
Thank you for any replies/recommendations ♡

(P.s.. You may need to zoom in on the picture to see it more clearly)

I think it should be ok. Duck bills usually heal OK. It's likely superficial. I'd just keep an eye on it. As long as it's eating, drinking and resting ok I would try not to worry. Do you have others hatching soon? Put a stuffed animal with it and give baby a mirror. Best wishes for you and new baby!
