Cracked or exploded egg

I guess this is what’s known as an exploding egg? But it just cracked a tiny bit and then leaked a drop out. This is day 16 should I take action of any kind other than removing the egg? There was no foul smell or anything.

I don't think so. No liquid got onto any of the other eggs, so you don't have to worry about bacteria getting in. I would open it though and see how far along it was in development.

Thank you! I am so sad about it I keep thinking maybe it might still be OK in there. I know not likely this is just my first time to try thank incubating

Candling it showed a weirdly shaped air sac and a lot of dark. Thank you i will!

If it is on day 16 and it is cracked like that with no smell I'd be tempted to leave it where it is. If it's all dark when you candled it it may be that the chick is almost fully developed. You can put a little coconut oil around the crack to try and stop it from drying out. If it starts to smell I'd remove it. I don't think it is likely to explode with that crack. How did the crack appear? Was it from turning?

I have been leaving the eggs be, So I can’t exactly say when it happened but I decided to candle last night and that’s when I noticed it. It could have been from the turning because it is outside to turning box. My friend who loaned me the incubator seemed to think that they would be OK out there, Because she had done it with no problem. But I think It could’ve been caused by that. I took the egg out last night and it has been sitting on my counter. If there’s no smell I can put it back in. I was just worried about the whole exploding egg thing. But if there’s really no danger of that one exploding maybe I should put it back in there just in case. What do you think?

Oh and I wanted to add that the two eggs that were outside of the box were very old. They were probably two weeks old and had been kept in the fridge. We put them in there almost as an experiment to see if an egg that old would hatch. I think that Two weeks might be the maximum amount of time that an egg considered possibly viable for hatching. The other eggs I have were only a couple days old.The other eggs I have were only a couple days old

Given that it has a lot of dark, I would put it back just in case. @CCUK is right, it might have an almost fully developed chick in there.

Are you saying that it was not in the turner? (referring to 'outside to turning box').

The egg has been out since last night on your counter? That's rather a long time, I am not sure that even if it were healthy it would survive that.
