Crafters, we need your help

:hitMy eyes are peeing.

So sweet @The Farmers' Daughter

I know how to loom now. @Cedar Creek Farm Lady Can I loom a hat?

Or can I loom a few squares and send them to one of y'all to make them in to a hat?
Wonder what it would look like with 1 square for the top and 4 squares for the front, back & sides?
I've got enough premades i can try it out, I don't think I could make a "vagina" hat...

As some of you may know, our lovely @sumi is working on winning the fight with cancer. While she's working on winning, there is something we can do to help her.

Do you knit, crochet or sew? How about helping @sumi out with some clothing? Hats, scarves, shawls, fingerless gloves etc.

I've got lots of patterns for knitters on my Pinterest page. Just search for Michelle Farmer-Brown.

Please PM me if you've got something to send, and I'll send you my mailing address. The only request that I have is that we try to keep it lightweight, as postage overseas can get rather pricey.

Thanks in advance for all of your help. Now lets get busy and show her how much she's loved!

Note: she can't stand pink or orange.

(The below images are just some suggestions that I grabbed off of Bing)

What a thoughtful idea Michelle!

I can't crochet or knit but I'd love to follow along to see what all everyone comes up with.

Um no...I can't.
I barely can make one square.
When you say loom are you talking loom knitting where you use a plastic thing with lots of pegs and a hook? If so, get a round loom that is roughly the size of a head and go in circles until you have a tube as long as you want the hat, pull the tail through all of the loops as you go around which creates a drawstring, pull it tight to close the top of the hat, then attach a pompom with the tail that you have left over.

Pompoms are also really easy. Take yarn, wrap it around you hand about 100 times (joking, but still several times), tie a string around the loop so you have what looks like a 8 with string cinching the center, then cut the loops on both ends which will leave lots of fluffy stuff that can be further fluffed by opening up each piece of yarn if you so desire.

As stated, pussy hats are a rectangle that is as wide as a head + a bit (wrap it around your forehead from ear to ear and that's about right) and as long as from your forehead, across the top of your head, and back down the back as far as the front hangs down. Once you have the rectangle, bind it off and sew both sides. When you put the rectangle on your head, it will warp and the corners will stick up looking a lot like cat ears (hence the name)

I asked my mom and she has a blue baby dragon already made that she would like to give you. She has had cancer and hopes he makes you feel better.

I'll get started on a few hats to go with him this weekend. Any colors you prefer? I'm buying yarn anyway
Blue is my favourite colour! :)

Other colours I like are red, purple, green, grey and black. Thank you!
