Craig's List! Why did I think I could use it?

I sold my in laws double wide trailer house and my old dishwasher on CL. I listed both items truthfully.
Did look at a stove I wanted, but got a funny response from the seller and I walked away too.

There is both good and bad in all aspects.

I so can't stand that! I have a love hate relationship with craigslist. I tend to buy most things second hand. I like quality items but can't really afford to pay new quality prices. So I would rather get something used that has quality, than new that is not so good. I have had amazing experiences shopping through craigslist and a few not so good. I have found more people are good and decent than are scammers. I know when to walk now, you get that feel, but it is frustrating when you invest your time in someone elses games. I am sure you will find what your looking for,..just scratch the guy out.

I can't stand someone posting an ad, you reply and you never get a response!! Or better yet responded to an ad the person responded saying he still had it asking for my number and after I sent it he never responded back again!! Yanks my chain!!

This fellow in his first response told me he was greedy when I made him an offer, so no doubts there. I made the offer, didn't really matter to me whether he accepted it or not. I based my offer on what I can get a new one for and I told him that. I even told him thanks for his time. He called me back(3 times to be exact) leaving me a message begging me to give what I offered. So I simply replied as I said in my previous post.

I have a feeling that the guy that listed the trailer you wanted found out by overwhelming responses that he was selling it too cheap and changed his mind about the price after he had already posted it. FYI, if you can hold out until the fall/winter months, there are good deals to be had on trailers.

When I've put anything on there I then get an email and I have to click in and review the ad I placed and then hit submit before it ever is actually posted.

But, maybe it depends on your city?state? I don't know, but here at least the system is designed to give you a chance to double check.
AND that email has the link directly to your ad should you notice later that there is an error... then you can fix it... OR when the item sells then you can kill the ad.

Something funny about that guy.

Yes! I can hold out. I have a trailer I can borrow, but-but-but you know how that is, be not a borrower or lender be.

The price on the trailer-- I can't figure--- at $2300 I can buy a brand stinkin new on equipped comparably for about $2200.

And I ain't payin list plus on anything! That's how the real estate crisis started.

I must say, I have both bought and sold on C/L(San Diego)several times and I Have NEVER had a problem.
That being said. it IS a "FREE" site and you do have to weed through the MORONS from time to time.

If they reply with anything REMOTLEY strange. I IGNORE THEM straight away. NO reply, of any kind. \\

Get a jive yahoo or hotmail email address to use so that when things get stupid you can just abandon the thing and move on.

Remember...Stupid people are like cockroaches.....when you see ONE, there are 200 you Cant see.

I've bought 5 of my 6 saddles via craigslist. Each one was a steal. Now, I don't have a clue if we waded through all the bad folks, or if the cowboys/girls we bought them from are just good, down to earth people. My bet is the latter.
