Craig's List! Why did I think I could use it?

Yeah, CL can get weird, and annoying sometimes. I've had pretty good luck, apart from the thousands of spammers who keep sending crap trying to make a buck of me.

I'va gotten some great deals, but I'm one of the good ones- I call right away, I answer emails promptly, and I try very hard not to leave anyone hanging (barring personal issues)

What I HATE, and have seen repeatedly, are ad's EXACTLY like what the OP experienced- Shady, greedy sellers, who post a great price, then they get a ton of responses, and instead of selling the item to someone who responded (ie: ME), they remove the ad, and then post the item again, at a higher price!! I HATE that!!

Do those scammers think no one is paying attention?

I do the same thing as the OP did, I walk away. I dont do business with shady sellers. There will always be another great deal from someone decent on another day. I'd rather be patient than ripped off.

I've had pretty good luck with Craigslist in my area. I've met some really nice people when I've rehomed my roos and extra chicks. I was able to purchase a dyson and sears vacuum cleaners for $50.00, both in perfect working condition. I've found a large dog kennel for $25.00 and an XL dogloo and varikennel for $50. However, I would never buy another kitchen item, after the chocolate fountain that had roaches in it.

Yea Craiglist can be a crapshoot at times. Some people are just mindless and think everything they own is of extreme value.

My husband was selling a 20ft duel axle trailer that would have been perfect for you. He has since decided to keep it, because of all the crap he was getting from craigslist. People making appointments and then not showing up. Making ridiculous offers on it. He was looking to get 1500 for it and people were offering him 300 and then would get mad and pissy when he said no. The trailer is mint and hauls like a dream. I can get 200 bales of hay on that baby and you would never know it.
