Craigslist is starting to suck. Scam?

yeah the lack of appropriate context is pretty amazing...
sometimes I'll get emails from some foreign person who is going to be "visting the area for a month" and wants to sign their 19 year old daughter and 23 year old son up for 5 hours a day of lessons... I teach belly dancing.
I'm trying hard to imagine a parent signing up their 23 year old son for 5 hours a day of belly dancing....
um,
nope.
can't make a picture of that...
I mean really, they answer an ad for bellydancing lessons? who do they think is going to take their email seriously?

I get those all the time when I post an ad. I have learned not to respond the people who just ask something like "do you still have the item?" Like someone else said, unless they have a specific question, I don't bother with them.

[[[[.......cashier's check is S.O.P. for these scammers......]]]]

Yes, you are correct.

My bank tells me that they see a lot of fake US Postal Service Money Orders. It's unlikely that an overseas scammer would send you one of those, but be aware that there are plenty of crooks based inside the USA, too.

I get Money Orders from a local grocery store (I know the sender) and when I look at them, all I can think is how easy it would be to duplicate one of them. They are very plain.

It's hard to get paid. Money can be counterfeit. Cashiers checks, bank checks, and money orders can be fake. Personal checks are often bad.

Todays paper had an article on CL listings offering a job. However the guys who fell for it were murdered!!! So please if you must meet a person do it and highly public place such as a shopping mall. Never follow a stranger home, or go with them. Never go alone, go with another adult if you are a female.

Get as many details about the person as you can and let someone know where your going.

Please be safe,

Yeah I got this one too.

I am always getting e-mails for viagra and from so called Fedex and USPS and UPS for delivery'

And I get ones that say I owe or have a ticket. Only thing is they don't do this stuff by e-mail.

Viagra? At my age that could be fatal. Good garden o' peas!
