Craigslist is starting to suck. Scam?

Quote:
How did you figure out it was a scam?

They wanted me to ship then they would western union me cash that day... Waiting till I knew what all the shipping cost was before sending cash I was fine with.. Dog being shipped before sending cash I refused an they just said that if I changed my mind call them back.

I lost a little cash on on vet stuff with that mess but that's life.

Someone claiming to be a lawyer with a secretary an calls you back after they get out of "court" an having to hang up an call you back later cause a "client walked in" can be very convincing.

I had a similar situation. I was selling an item for $500 they sent a check for $5,000 from an adress in CA. The guy emailed and said he wanted it shipped to a PO box in IL. Said he had an out of country emergency and would have his worker send the check. Then he responds minutes later saying the check was wrote out for 5 grand instead of 5 hundred. (I guess WE ALL accidendtly confuse 5,000 for 500). I knew it was a scam and played along for awhile. Even told him I sent the item. He would keep asking me where it was for months, and I told him delivered. How stupid did he really think I was. Its unfortunate that some people really fall for this scam.

This makes me wonder of anyone has ever thought I was a scammer. I sent out an email to a person who had chickens on their property from a previous owner and I tried to give her some info on what she could do. I never got a reply back. Went something like this :
"Hey I saw your ad on Craigslist about the chickens roaming on your property. I own and raise chickens. Do you have a fenced yard? Do you have a net? You can catch them and take them to an animal auction out on Ave G. The hen sitting on the eggs is what is called a broody. (I think I told her to check the eggs or something just in case)" Then I think I said I was intrested in taking a look at them, but I never got a reply so meh.
