I think she is egg bound, but doing something really weird. She's down as low as she can go and just inches along.

Her abdomen is swollen. She was starving and has devoured any treats I've given her, but won't drink. I made an internal exploration and couldn't feel an egg, but do feel something egg shaped from the outside.

Poor girl is in agony. Any thoughts are much appreciated.

Thanks Liz - I did that yesterday. Unlike the penguin stanced egg bound hens, because she's so low, I can't let her soak unattended. I'll try again and it did make her a bit more comfortable, but she's still miserable.

Now I don't know if she's egg bound. I think there's just an ENORMOUS egg.

She's back in the bath, I'm masssaging away and the egg isn't budging.

HELP! Any ideas about how to help her?

dont massage too vigorously...
I would crush a TUM up and give that to her pronto (that is an emergency substitute for the calcium gluconate she would get at the vet) which may help... if you have polyvisol give three drops of that too in beak (vit D3 is also involved in calcium metabolism> cant hurt might help)
