I can do all silkies, it might take a little longer to get the order out! It's worth it though, these babies are GORGEOUS!

Personally, I blame it on my son, he won't let me sell any of 'his' fluffies! But I only have one black hen and one cuckoo or blue cuckoo (cockerel I think

) baby right now, and one other black baby, so I'm thinking I might need some more of that color. Plus, the white silkies have been laying for a week or so, so they should be going broody again any time now! They will need something to sit on, since I gave all their eggs to the broody OEGB!

LOL Yeah, these girls go broody all the time! Which is nice, since they're so good at it (10 of 12 shipped serama eggies!) but I have so many people wanting their eggs it's a bummer!
I'll do all I can to get them out ASAP!

This is completely OT, but I was under the impression that the cuckoo gene is recessive, like the mottling gene in cochins? Is that right? So if my cuckoo baby is in fact a cockerel, eventually I'll have my own 'line' of cuckoo silkies? Right?

I hate genetics, I think I'll stick with whites

I've finally got the bbs's figured out for the most part though, and my flock proves it! The white silkies and the millies are the only ones that aren't blue, black, or splashed!

Shelleyd2008--A big thank you!
I posted you feedback on the feedback thread, but will put some of it here, too, b/c I'd say that what these li'l chickies went through was just plain ol' amazing!!!
=0 )

.....sent 12+ button quail eggs (I received 15) one was cracked, but they were beautifully packaged...not the sellers fault, but that of the post office!
To give an idea HOW fertile and tough these eggs were....

I had "one of those" hatches...the kind that makes you cringe...

the auto turner failed, and was off for almost half the hatch before I notived (it turns so slowly, I failed to note the eggs were always facing the same direction--I've been so busy getting my house to sell...well, that's my excuse, and I'm stickin' to it!! haha). They started construction on some power lines out here, and I have had three power failures. Two caused my AC to go out, and when the power came back on, I think the thermostat got 'confused' by the ups and downs in temp. and heated the hatcher to 104 for a couple hours or so before I got it turned down. This happened not once, but twice. Then we had a big failure one night, and the eggs cooled to 72 degrees for almost 24 hours the day they were due to hatch. Which I'm sure also means the humidity went screwy.

So I'm thinking no way do they have any hope of hatching. Right?
Wrong!
After all that, I have two out, three zipped, and one pipped. A day late, mind you, but still...impressive for shipped eggs that went through all that!!! This is even though they've ALL pipped on the SIDE instead of where they should. I think that's probably b/c they spent half their incubation in the same position.
Of the eggs that are left, all I can do is cross my fingers, as they're too dark to candle. Even if no more hatched, I'm still TOTALLY impressed.

Oh yeah, and, forgot to put this in the feedback--one potential house buyer left an apology note, b/c they were apparently curious what was in the styrofoam box, and pick it up, and tilted it a little on its side to look through the window, which made all the eggs roll around. This was TODAY an hour before the first pip.
Poor little things. I really feel terrible about all these eggs have been through, but I am TOTALLY impressed by the tenacity of these little babies after all that!!
