Hmmm if one cent increments are a problem for people, then that SHOULD be posted in the rules. I'm thankful I wasn't the person that placed that bid and got a hole torn into me. An auction is an auction and unless the rules prohibit one cent bids, I dont see a problem with it. No need to get so worked up, there's been a lot of d'uccles on this thread, I'm sure they'll be more.

Congrats on your winning bid eestep, I dont think it was "low" at all.

I agree, there is nothing saying it can't be done, a winning bid is a winning bid. I would think the seller would be able to offer a private sell to the losing bidder? Don't know for certain, but this is a very friendly forum. If we were in this for the $$, we wouldn't even be posting these auctions. Most of the people that have posted here sell their eggs outright for a lot more than they have gotten through this!

If people are going to pull these stunts then I would suggest making bidding incriments $1, maybe $.50. If you're not willing to pay an extra $.50 why bother. We don't need this to be like ebay.

I think it's pretty silly as well. I mentioned this in one of the other auction threads. Bidding increments should be at least $1.

I disagree. This thread has been this way from the start. If someone beats you with a winning bid, just wait until they are posted again. What difference does it make "how much" they beat you by?

There are no rules as to bid increments. All's fair in chickens and auctions on this thread. If you want them worse, bid sooner, bid higher and pay more. End of story. If someone beat you by a penny, they you are both cheapskates and we all get a good laugh. Eggs are like busses, another lot will be along in five minutes. If you want those EXACT eggs, contact the seller and ask to be on their waiting list. I'm sure they would love to have a waiting list. Okay troops, as you were. Back to fun and games on the Crazy 24 Hour Auction Thread. No sore losers allowed. This is supposed to be fun.

Wasn't trying to cause trouble I was just thinking that it could get out of hand. Say someone had eggs with no reserve and we all started bidding in .01 increments. Like I bid 1.00 you bid 1.01 next person bids 1.02 and so on, just doesn't seem fair to the seller. No hard feelings just might be a good idea for future auctions, even .25 cent increments wouldn't be that bad.
