What can I say. I always had a interest in chickens... well Roosters really. Collected the figurines in my kitchen. Thought about having my own chickens and fresh eggs daily. Just never went and did it.
Not until the little guys where their in front of me at "Tractor Supply Co." And I instinctively bought 6.
Well My Husband was not Happy ...lol Bad day for him as it was.
But my kids are all for it. My daughter is not all about me having a baby anymore ...LOL
Let me say hubby is fine with it all now. And coop design is big in the planning.
BTW .. I went and got 3 more little darlings ..lol yes it is addictive.

Just a couple Q?

It looks like everyone uses what ever for their coops I was wondering what is the preferred Building medium for the wall panels?
OSB Plywood is the cheapest, or Construction Grade Plywood? any other ideas?
I was only going to paint the exterior and leave the interior Natural.

Next Q?

I was building it under an existing deck that has spaced floor boards. What should I use for the ceiling of the coop? to keep the rain, and etc. out.

: from Ohio!

Our coop was given to us by a neighbor, when she moved away. Her dad made it, and he used plywood for the walls. He recycled two old windows and the door, and it has served it's purpose well.
ETA to add: cute chicks!

Someone on here built a coop under a deck. Not quite sure how you'd get rain to run off the roof, though. Many use OSB for exterior walls because it's cheaper, but you will have to seal it well because it soaks up water and turns to mush. Esp. the ends. Some use metal strips (flashing???) to cover the ends, then caulk, then paint.
