So I've got a new girl, I hope. No crowing no spurs. But I'm also not sure what breed either I've narrowed it down to jersey giant or Rhode island white. What are your thoughts on either. The bird is about 24 inches tall. It was given to me as a tip, I work at a feed store, and the lady knew I have chickens.

I think it may be a cornish cross?
If you just got this bird, keep it separate from your birds. Check for mites/lice/worms and treat as needed.
He may have something contagious.

Not sure where you got this rooster but he doesn't look very healthy- not deathly but not well. I sure would quarantine him from the rest of your flock if you intend to keep him- you have no idea what diseases, lice, or other problems he is bring to your flock.

Where did you get him? Also, generally speaking anything with a comb as big as it's own head is going to be a boy. :)

Definitely a Cornish cross rooster. They’re meant to be butcher at around 8 weeks(not saying that’s what you have to do with him) that’s just what they’re used for.
