Crazy Broody >.<, "why so broody??" "Bawk Bwak!!!!"

i have a broody barred rock who has been broody for about 40 some odd days and i would like to know if she'll go broody again, and if so when? is this part of some sort of cycle that the go through or is it just random. also my feed store guy (who gave me all my chickens a chicks for free

) told me he had a hen go broody about every 3 months has any one had something like this happen before to them.

I'm just dealing with my first batch of broodies. FWIW, I have one hen that's broody right now that just hatched a baby back in March. I'm trying to break her but it's been about 3 weeks now.

That's all I know. Seems like it's a cycle. Not sure how many times they'll do it.
