CRAZY chicken death... please explain!!

For future reference, you're really only supposed to use hydrogen peroxide on fresh injuries. It prevents new tissue growth, so you really don't want to use it more than once.
 
I dont mean too scare you away from using peroxide ever again, but you never know when someone or something can have a reaction to a medication of any kind. But on a more positive note, my mom had a lady amherst pheasant female that got the skin on the back of her neck completely ripped off, all you could see on the back of her neck was muscle. It was nasty looking. But I poured peroxide over it and put her in a pen away from the male pheasant that did the damage. She is alive and I can't believe that her skin has grown back well enough to have completely normal feathers on her neck. You can look at her and not know the damage that was done if you had not seen it at it's worst
 
I've never heard of an allergic reaction to peroxide. My guess is it had a systemic infection from the puncture wounds. They are nearly impossible to clean out completely, and this is always a danger.
