My friend lost her flock today a midday coyote raid. She collected all eggs and put them in her kitchen. I believe it was Wednesday. I took them home and set them Friday 3/22. Today one hatched clean in the turner during dry incubation. All I can figure is a hen had been sitting on it, and her house was warm enough. I cannot imagine it was 4 days early. I have been weighing eggs (never done it before, so not experienced) and had not noticed a difference in weights. I also ran a fairly steady if not cool incubation. I was away, and ran out of heating oil. The incubator was really working to stay at 95.5 for 2 days. Anybody have any ideas? I'd say it's a survivor egg! No other visible pips either.
