What?!?!?!?? lol just goes to show how pictures mess with color, this is the same chicken seconds apart. But that’s not my point.

The point is!!!! How in the heck did a green/blue egg come out of my midnight majesty maran??? I literally watched it come out of her, it’s her egg, LITERALLY HOW?? lol she looks just as surprised as me

Hi! I think your Midnight Majesty Marans is actually an Olive Egger. Your hen appears to have a pea comb, which some Olive Eggers have, but Marans don’t.

Olive Eggers typically lay olive-green eggs, but sometimes they will produce blue or brown eggs due to their genetic background which includes both blue and brown egg-laying genes.

She appears to have white earlobes. I agree, I don't think it is a Maran. My white earlobes tend to lay white, cream or colored eggs.

Looking up the breed, they appear to be a hybrid. All my marans and maran-based hybrids have red earlobes. White earlobes I've only seen on my cream legbars, so maybe somewhere in that hen's family tree there's some blue-egg-layer genes.
