I have 6 eggs were due yesterday, one is out, I have 3 that are cracking, two of them cracked today the third one cracked yesterday. It's been 24 hours and the one that cracked yesterday has not come out yet and has little or no progress since. Would you say it's time for me interveen?? Or do I need to be more patient and wait longer?? The first one came out within 6 hours of cracking..

if your careful, you can help but sometimes it's just better to wait it out. give it a few more hours, tap on the egg and listen, if you hear anything, wait, give the chick a chance to do it on it's own. (also the chick could be resting, so check again in 30 mins before going in)

if you hear screaming, then go in now.

i am by no means an expert. this is my first hatch but i had 3 that were stuck/shrink wrapped and i did help them. they are doing well. i went very slowly making sure they could breathe and one had the yolk not fully absorbed so he waited a while before i finished with him. good luck to you

I interveened, I pealed away some of the shell, I could see the little guys beak be he had not cracked the thick skin yet, So i put a slight, now were seeing progress, he's moving around, flapping his beak and trying to wiggle. I'm going to watch him over the next few hours and if still the same will peal some more shell and see if we can get this little guy out over time. The other one is sitting right next to him patiently wait and pecking at him as if to say, "come dude, If I can do it, you can, stop being a whimp.." They are talking to each other and he is putting a lot of effort into it now.. Well now the other one who is out already is just being mean, he's grabbing the one in the shells beak and pulling on it. As if he is trying to help him out... The one in the shell is yelling at him...
