My 10 week polish roo is missing a toenail. He's 99.9% evil and tries to fight anything that moves "Matrix" style---feet out first
roll.png
anyway, he got in a fight with the hardware cloth on the door of the coop and lost
roll.png
it ended up with blood everywhere and a missing toenail. He truly is just a mean, hateful roo. He's good to the rest of his flock, protects them and all, but I really just can't stand him.

SO anyway, the genius is in chicken jail (a big pet carrier/kennel), alone, so no one pecks his bloody foot. He's still bleeding about 2 hours later. He is MAD. And I mean is trying to tear the door off of the pet carrier, which is probably why his toe is still bleeding. He's in the dark garage, carrier facing a wall, everything is quiet, etc.....but he is still being a maniac. Can you tell I don't really like this guy?

Aside from tying his legs together (which I wouldn't, but the thought has crossed my mind), what can I do for him? And I have to wear welding gloves to handle or catch him, and every time I attempt to open the carrier door, he tries to fly out and claw me in the face. Any ideas on how to get him to calm down or anything I can do for his foot?

This is Mr. Evil himself, all healed up............pics just like promised, just a few days late

You're a trooper. For me.....bye bye roo! I'm really sorry but am laughing really hard visualizing how the heck you got him in, and will get him out, of that carrier.

I don't think there is much you can do. He may tire, but probably not for some time. I think you just have to let him do his thing. Did you put a towel over the carrier so he can't see out?

Again, I'm really sorry for laughing but that is just too much. Welding gloves??? He must be Satan with wings!

He finally quit and got tired

And yes, welding gloves! LOL It was either that or some work gloves that ended at my wrist, which resulted in scratches on my lower arms........the welding ones go up past my elbows

The carrier is facing a wall, the rest of the sides are solid with only small holes for air flow. I got a flashlight and looked in at his feet and it didn't look like there was any fresh blood......

It was easy getting him in the carrier with the gloves on, I had him in a good grip. To let him out, I'll just carry the carrier into the run and open it. Catching him, however, was not so fun

Will you please keep us posted. I find myself laughing again at this thread. Do you have the ability to post a pic of satanroo? I think he might...just might become infamous around BYC. Probably something he'd be really proud of.
