crazy white quail

I have a crazy white quail that runs around the cage stuck in reverse, backwards where ever he goes.It looks like bumber cars as he backs into every thing.It a 10x10 cage,so he gets up some good speed.After 30 min or so,he puts gear back in forward and goes forward for a short time.????????

Could be some sort of nutrient deficiency or parasite load...

Does it act blind at all, or stumbling as well?

Check for crop impaction
Also check his head. Mine had a big ingrown feather. I pulled it out and he went back to normal.

I've never seen a quail do any kind of mating ritual, but maybe they do something like it?.... Maybe it's a he and he is feeling spunky lol

I do believe he is just spunky.He is very young.I have another that flys about 3 feet at a time all day.
