I am at first time chicken mama. One of my hens has recently started laying, at least I think it’s just one of them. I have collected one egg each day for the last three days. How do I know which one this came from? I have two barred rocks and one porcelain d’uccle. One of my rocks has a plump red comb, I’m assuming it’s her? Just looks like a small egg to me.

Congrats on your new layer!
Do you have any photos of all three birds? If only one has a red comb, especially if it’s larger than it used to be, is your likely laying pullet.

The only way to know for sure is to catch her in the act, or check for yourself

I wouldn’t be too concerned over egg size right now, as thecatumbrella has said. Most pullets lay quite smaller eggs in the beginning, compared to what they end up laying in their mature life

I don’t have any pics from the last few days. Here are some from like a week or so ago.
