Pip's Project... 52? Thread!

Sigh... Week 11 was my spring break, so naturally it went by entirely too fast. 😩 Here's a selection of the pictures I got this week!

Some pretty sunsets this week

Week 12 is done! Here's what I've gotten pictures of this time! :D

A white crocus blooming in the yard :love

Last Monday, winter reared its ugly head again. One moment, it was nearly white-out snowing, and the next it was sunny! :th These pictures were taken 3 minutes apart.

We're required to wear scrubs to class every day, but I don't have any in green. So, I busted out the chicken socks for St. Paddy's Day :D ā˜˜ļø Thankfully, they aren't picky about sock colors in clinic at my school like some other schools are!

A pretty glorious sunrise on the way to class that same day. (Not to worry, the car I drive was out of commission so I was carpooling and not driving when I took this!)

Cross-post from my flock thread of Cazzie the large fowl Blue Cochin, enjoying a bit of sunshine this week after we went back to springlike weather again. Caz is my current eldest living bird at about 10 years of age, though she has some years to go if she wants to compete for the title of eldest bird I've ever owned!

Cross-post from Casper's thread of him being the most ridiculous goober again 🄰 I cannot resist this face!

And... I treated myself this week. I knew I had to have them as soon as I laid eyes on them on the shelf. Chessex Brush Sunset/black šŸ˜ Do I really need to get another set when I already own almost 100 polyhedral dice sets..?

...Yes. Of course I do. 😊 Anyway, aren't they awesome?

Also, there is no such thing as too many dice.

Oooh, so many shiny clicky-clacks šŸ˜ You have a fantastic assortment of different purples, and I love those sort of speckly textured ones, too! I don't have any of those yet!

I used to keep mine in zipper bags so they were all mixed together, but sorted by shape for quick grab use in game. Last Christmas I decided to upgrade to drawers to keep them organized by set because I love just staring at the sets, themselves. Now I have to stop myself from hyperfixating and reorganizing them every few weeks because maybe they'd look better organized this way instead of that way 🤣

...Oh, uh. Sidetracked by the shinies. :duc Back to my weekly pictures in my next post!

Lucky week 13? Eh. But we survived it, right?

Some more spring flowers blooming this week. :love First picture is a fittingly named wildflower, the harbinger-of-spring (Erigenia bulbosa), and the second picture is the Puschkinias I planted around a gravesite for several of my beloved past hens.

A frequent view for my lunches these days, looking out of the parking garage over campus.

My buddy, DXTTR #2, strapped in and ready for me to practice taking radiographs on Tuesday. Doesn't he look fun? :D

Cross-post from Casper's thread of him getting some chin scritches after SOMEbody left a door open and he slipped out early this morning, giving us all a big scare. Thank goodness we got him back inside, safe and sound!

And, lastly, some sound advice from the dental hygiene class of 2010, hanging in the clinic at school. 🤭

Week 14 check in! Things have really been coming to life this week in the woods, so I have mostly nature pictures this week. :love

These are some of our earliest wildflowers here, spring beauties. I prefer the colloquial name for them, though: the fairy spud! :D They sprout from teeny tiny tubers that look like little miniature white potatoes.

Trout lilies! We have both the yellows (Erythrnium americanum) and the whites (E. albidum) here in the woods. :love

1775408356662.png

One of my absolute favorite wildflowers in the area, Dutchman's Breeches (Dicentra cucullaria). I just think they're so cute 🄰

1775408530225.png

Not wildflowers, but here are some of our daffodils coming into bloom, too.

We've had a fair bit of rain here recently, so the little stream through the woods has been full of water. Usually the left stream in this picture is dry or has some standing water in it, while only the right side has a little water moving through it, except in the dead of summer when both sides dry up.

Another cross post from his thread. Casper just works so hard around here, isn't it so admirable?
