My baby girl Nellie is 6 years old and no longer laying. She has had a few instances of mild respiratory symptoms but nothing that required medication. A few months ago she got near my dogs food bowl and my dog grab ahold of her near her back/tail. She had a small gash which i treated and now shes good as new. But after that, I noticed that she seemed to be pretty wheezing, but no watery eyes, no nasal discharge really, etc. It ended up basically subsiding before I ended up getting meds with just vet rx and nutridrench. But for the past few weeks, shes been making a loud sneeze noise only when she is eating or drinking, especially when shes drinking. Her back side feathers are a bit messy but shes always had that problem since she was young so I dont think its related. She does not let me hold her beak, its almost impossible for me to even give her medicine so I dont think I can check her throat unless someone has some tips on how to do that with an uncooperative bird and with only one person. The symptoms are getting worse. She is currently growing back alot of feathers right not around her neck area, im thinking from molt. I know that the issue isn't her environment bc she hangs with me all day and then sleeps inside with me to and I clean her area she sleeps on every day. Shes spoiled rotten. If anyone has any ideas what it could be or what I can do to check please let me know. Shes my best friend and I love her so much. I just dont want her to be not feeling good and there be something to do about it. Thank you!

She may be getting some dust from her feed up her nostrils when she is eating. Have you ever wormed her? Gapeworm is very rare, but you can treat her for it and it will also treat any other worms that she might have, except for tapeworms. Treatment is SafeGuard Liquid Goat Wormer, shaken well, 0.25 ml per pound given orally for 5 consecutive days.
