I have 2 cream legbar hens. There are 3 possible dads to the eggs I hatch from them (I can tell their eggs from the others). One is half legbar half Marans and is barred, one is a grey Easter Egger with red leakage, and one is a pure buff Orpington. Am I correct in thinking any chick without a headspot would have to be a girl? If the barred roo is the dad, I know the chick could be a pullet, but if it didn’t have a headspot that would mean it was offspring of one of the other roos and a pullet? Or no?

Thanks so much!

Correct. As long as the chick down would make it possible to see if it was there.
