Wondering what color hen crosses I can get from him? I have a mixed flock with mixed breeds & varied feather colors. I would love to do a hatch from him but I enjoy a variety of colors. Making sure they won’t all come out looking the same if I hatch some eggs this spring. I would assume since Buttercups lay white eggs, that he would carry the white egg gene on and I could get white eggs or lighter versions of the colors I get now if I hatch his offspring?

In case the info is needed, purebred hens I have:
Black Copper Marans
Rhode Island Blue
Blue Australorp
Blue Marans
Lavender Orpington
Welsummer
Speckled Sussex
Blue Laced Red Wyandotte
Buff Naked Neck
Buff Orpington
Bielefelder
Cream Legbar
Barred Rock
Silver Laced Wyandotte
White Leghorn
The rest of my hens are EE or hybrid so parentage may vary.

Thanks!

Thank you!

For all the genetists out there, I am specifically trying to figure out what pattern to put in for the rooster, along with whether he would carry the female pattern gene if he produced a female offspring. I was so looking forward to the pattern on the Buttercup hen so that was the one breed I really didn’t want to have missexed. Also wondering what colors of the breeds I mentioned above would be dominant/guaranteed in his crosses, and if he was crossed with any barred hens (Bielefelder, Barred Rock, or Legbar), or any color solid hen mentioned above, if any sexlinks would be produced.
