I bought 4 chicks back in April from my feed store and 2 of them were supposed to be Welbars. They got a little Mohawk, now turned afro, and I just assumed they were actually cream legbars and the store just got them mixed up. Well I’ve been reading posts and looking at pics on here and they look nothing like everyone else’s cream legbars! Can anyone confirm or deny that that’s what mine are?

They look like my legbars, what do you mean they don't look like others?
They could be an olive egger, welsummer x legbar
They all have completely different colors lol.

That first picture is a cockerel. Males and females of the breed look different. The second bird looks more like an OE than a Legbar.
The post I screenshotted those pics from said they’re all laying so they’re hens. I just haven’t seen a legbar that looks like mine yet.

Mine do, those other birds are oddballs.
Haha ok cool. I thought mine were the odd balls. On FB I saw a bunch that said they were cream legbars with way different colors too so I began to wonder about mine lol. Are yours good layers?

So a Welbar is supposed to be a Welsummer mixed with Plymouth Barred Rock.

I'm willing to bet they mixed Welsummer with Legbars and are calling them "Welbars." This will most likely produce Olive colored eggs. I think this is what you got since yours has a crest.

Some hatcheries and breeders are calling Olive Eggers "Marsbars" which is Black Copper Marans mixed with Legbars.
