He's definitely a cockerel with that much comb at that age no matter what breed or mix.
Sorry.

Okay, here are updated photos of the mystery chick at three weeks! And, for your amusement, a photo of the SEVENTY SIX (Yup 76) eggs that my husband found under the poop board. Well! And there I thought the girls weren't laying due to the stress of a broody hen. Live and learn. And now, off to see if the eggs sink or float. . .. I have to say, this cream legbar chick looks like a boy to me but I don't know from nothin. . .. :-( And he's CUTE!

I would agree. Do they look any different now. White on the center of head?If they're Cream Legbars, then they all look like pullets to me.
does he have worms? I notice no white feathers on him like my older roosters. Does he have those? mine is three. Is he eating and drinking? Can you catch him at night to see if he has any wounds? To make him comfortable it is sometimes a good idea to let him sleep in a box with bedding. He will be warmer since the ground is damp and he has no mates to snuggle too. Just some thoughts. Mites a problem for him? Dust bath in the coop so you know they have access. On second thought, he might feel he is getting replaced and is down. the special bed is even more important then.I thought I'd post a picture of the confirmed cockerel who is as I type practicing his little crow.
Which sounds rather pathetic next to Big Red's lusty Doodle dos.
Though I will add, Big Red has been sleeping on the floor of the coop. Below where the hens are roosting. Ahem. And he seems suddenly quite reserved relative to his old gallant self. He is three. I don't think Little Big Man is intimidating him as LBM is 1/3 BRs size. The coop is secure so I don't think he's preparing for intruders. Maybe he's getting old??? Sad. I mightn't spend enough time with my chickens--they are practically feral except when I come out with their daily treats. And they stay just out of arm reach. So maybe I'm a lousy caretaker. But I am fond of them even if they aren't of me!
You have two cockerels. One is a Crested Cream Legbar. The other is an Easter Egger mix.Hi, I'm new to BYC, and we have a puzzle....I hope we are asking in the right place.
We bought a pair of Legbars a month or so ago, they should be three months or so, but the pullet has been crowing. I think she is a rooster, but my husband doesn't...anybody have an opinion? I'm asking about the darker of the two big birds.
