Good morning!

I have this pretty cream legbar, it is 7 months old. I was under the impression cream legbar are autosexing. Her feathering looks female to me, but her comb is enormous, and she was the only one of my chickens not laying. Today, she did a couple little crows. Is she really a he? I’m guessing yes, with the crowing, but I’m so surprised. Here are some picture of Cookie.

This might be another case of a female with a damaged ovary. It would explain the massive comb and wattles, the lack of eggs, and could be a factor in the crowing, although normal hens can crow, too. I've never seen a Legbar comb/wattles that large.
I was reading about that happening and wondering if that was the case. She hasn’t crowed again. Her comb and waddles are huge and so, so red.

We had a Black Copper Marans that crowed. She was the case that TedJackson referred to. She had the masculine head (big comb, large wattles), never laid eggs, and crowed. When we culled her I examined the internal organs when I did the evisceration and she defiantly was a hen, but she would have never laid an eggs. Hens with a masculine head is listed as a cull point for production hens.
